Mitchell B. Ulatowski, age 92, of Shelton, previously of Stratford, the beloved husband of the late Rita Sheehan Ulatowski passed away peacefully in Bridgeport Hospital on June 8, 2011 with his devoted family by his side. Mitchell was born in Webster, Massachusetts on October 23, 1918 and worked as a tool-setter with the Remington Arms Company for thirty-five years. He was a United States WW II Navy veteran and served on the USS Alchiba (AKA6) as a boatswains mate. He was an avid reader, loved gardening, cooking, fishing, watching birds and most of all enjoyed being with his loving family. He was a Stratford resident most of life and enjoyed spending many hours at the Stratford Library. He is survived by his devoted daughter, Nancy Ritz of Shelton with whom he resided, granddaughter, Corrie Lynn O’Donnell and her husband Michael of Fairfield and several nieces and nephews. He was also predeceased by one brother, Ernie Ulatowski, son-in-law, Andrew Ritz, nephew, Thomas M. Ryan and sister-in-law, Shirley Ryan.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 13, 2011 at 10:30 AM in the Galello-Luchansky Funeral Home, 2220 Main Street, Stratford officiated by Msgr. William Schultz pastor of Our Lady of Grace Church. Interment with full military honors will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery Trumbull. Loved ones’ may call at the funeral home from 9:00 AM until time of service.
