Edward C. Weldon

Weldon, Edward C. Weldon, age 90, of Stratford, beloved husband of Joan Beebe Weldon, passed away peacefully in Bridgeport Hospital on December 3, 2017 with his loving family by his side. Edward was born on January 15, 1927 in Bridgeport and was the son of the late Charles and Edith Elliot Weldon. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Navy and proudly served his country in World War II. Edward was a driver for New England Teamsters and Trucking Industries. He was a gifted carpenter, very religious and cherished spending time with family. In addition to his beloved wife, Joan of 64 years, he is also survived by two sons, William Weldon of North Carolina, Brian Weldon and wife Judith of Stratford, two daughters, Patricia Weldon of Stratford and Kathleen Greene and husband John of Wallingford, four grandchildren, John, Brian, Ashley and Erin, three great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 7, 2017 at 11:00 AM in St. Mark’s Church, 500 Wigwam Lane, Stratford, where A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Birendra Soreng. Interment will follow in St. Michael’s Cemetery.
