Mary D Sirotnik

Sirotnik, Mary D. Tomis Sirotnik, age 93, of Milford, beloved wife of the late John Sirotnik, passed away peacefully on January 5, 2017 in Milford Hospital with her loving family by her side. Mary was born on January 31, 1923 in Bridgeport and was the daughter of the late Bartholomew and Veronica Stec Tomis. She grew up in both Bridgeport and Stratford moved to Milford in 1956. Mary worked for the Milford Board of Education for 24 years as a school secretary at Milford High and Johnathan Law. She was a lifelong member of Sts. Cyril and Methodius Church of Bridgeport and was involved in the Ladies Guild, Jednota Society, and all social functions held at that church. Mary was a communicant of St. Mary's Church Milford and had also been involved with the PTA in earlier years. Upon her retirement, she had traveled to Portugal and Peru, she also enjoyed cooking and listening to talk radio. Mary is survived by one son, Jack Sirotnik of Milford, one daughter, Marilyn Sirotnik of Newport R.I., one brother Frank Tomis of Oxford, several nieces and nephews in Fairfield, Virginia and Florida. In addition to her beloved husband John of 44 years, Mary was also predeceased by three brothers Bill, Albert, Msgr. John Tomis, and one sister Ann Stec.

Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, January 10, 2017 at 10:00 AM directly at Sts. Cyril and Methodius Church, 79 Church Street, Bridgeport where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Msgr. Joseph W. Pekar. Interment will follow in St. John's Cemetery Stratford. At Mary's request, prior calling hours have been omitted. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Galello-Luchansky Funeral Home, 2220 Main Street, Stratford. In lieu of flowers, those who so desire may contribute to Sts. Cyril and Methodius Church, 79 Church Street, Bridgeport CT in memory of Mary.
