Matteo Xhanino

Xhanino, Matteo Xhanino, age 85, of Stratford, beloved son of the late Salvatore and Rosa Re Xhanino, passed away peacefully on November 29, 2017 in Bridgeport Hospital with his loving family by his side. Matteo was born in Sicily, Italy on February 22, 1932 and was employed by Bulova watch as an inspector for over 40 years. He enjoyed gardening, cooking, cherished spending time with family and will be remembered as a “Jack of all Trades.” Matteo is survived by two nephews, Anthony Barcia of Stratford and Sal Barcia of Trumbull, two nieces, Rose Masiuk of Trumbull and Margaret McNerney of Naples, FL and several great nieces and great nephews. In addition to his beloved parents, Matteo was predeceased by two brothers, Frank Xhanino and Andrew Xhanino, two sisters, Rosalie Barcia and Antonina Xhanino. Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 1, 2017 at 10:30 AM in St. Catherine of Siena Church, 220 Shelton Road, Trumbull where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Luke P. Suarez. Entombment will follow in Gate of Heaven Mausoleum Trumbull. Friends may call on Friday from 8:30 AM to 10:00 AM at the Galello-Luchansky Funeral Home, 2220 Main Street Stratford.
