Nicholas J. Angelicola

Angelicola, Nicholas J. Angelicola, age 94, of Stratford, beloved husband of Rosalie Edwards Angelicola, passed away peacefully on June 12, 2017 in Bridgeport Hospital with his loving family by his side. Nicholas was born on October 20, 1922 in Bridgeport and was the son of the late John and Mary Angelicola. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Army and was the proprietor of Nick’s Flying A gas station in Stratford for 30 years. Nicholas was the Past Post Commander of VFW #9460, a member of Port 5 and a member of American Legion of Milford. In addition to his beloved wife, Rosalie, Nicholas is also survived by two sons, Nicholas J. Angelicola Jr. of Ansonia and John A. Angelicola and wife Cindy of Chesapeake, VA, three daughters, Deborah A. Edo and husband Reggie of Conway, SC, Diane M. Zelinsky and husband Vinny of Milford and Sandra Hirth of Charlotte, NC, four grandchildren, Lynn, Nicole, Vincent and Cheyenne, two great grandchildren, John (JT) and Mason, one sister, Eda Trembicki and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Nicholas was also predeceased by his first wife, Josephine Grabiec Angelicola and one sister, Justine Szablak. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 15, 2017 at 10:30 AM in Our Lady of Grace Church, 345 Second Hill Lane, Stratford, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Burial will follow immediately at St. Michael's Cemetery with full military honors.  Friends may call on Wednesday, June 14, 2017 from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at the Galello-Luchansky Funeral Home, 2220 Main Street, Stratford. In lieu of flowers,donations can be made in Nicholas memory to a charity of one’s choice.
