Frank J. Tanucci Sr.

Tanucci, Frank J. Tanucci Sr., age 90, of Stratford, beloved husband of the late Patricia Chacho Tanucci, passed away peacefully on February 24, 2018 in St. Vincent’s Medical Center with his loving family by his side. Frank was born on April 10, 1927 in Paterson, NJ and was the son of the late Joseph and Mary Loscuito Tanucci. He graduated from Stratford High School in 1945 and proudly served his country in the Navy in WWII.  He started his own blasting company in the 1950's and then became a partner with DiCamillo and Sons Construction Company for many years.  He also became an avid flyer and owned several of his own planes that he enjoyed flying to his home on Block Island where he retired for 20 years with his wife until her passing.  While retired on Block Island he enjoyed fishing, clamming, boating, hunting and his garden.  He always enjoyed the simpler life on "Block" and disliked things "too complicated"!  He has resided in Stratford for the last 6 years to be closer to family. Frank is survived by three sons, Frank J. Tanucci Jr. and wife Ui Ran Park of Oxford, Michael Irons of Stratford and Pat Tanucci, three daughters, Sharon Gajdosik of Bradenton, FL, Donna Irons of Bradenton, FL, Donna Allen of New London, Shelby Tanucci and Kathy Tanucci, five grandchildren, Mark, Jennifer, Joseph, Michael and Eugene, four great grandchildren, one sister, Rose Pimpinelli of Stratford and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his beloved wife, Patricia, Frank was also predeceased by one son, John D. Irons. A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, March 1, 2018 at 10:00 AM in the Galello-Luchansky Funeral Home, 2220 Main Street, Stratford officiated by Rev. Mariusz Olbrys. Interment will follow at St. Michael’s Cemetery. Friends may call on Thursday, March 1, 2018 at the Galello-Luchansky Funeral Home from 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM.
