Joan M Sopko

Sopko, Joan M. Zrallack Sopko, age 65, of Bridgeport, beloved wife of Stephen Sopko, passed away peacefully on June 20, 2015 in Bridgeport Hospital with her loving family by her side. Joan worked as a Paraprofessional for the City of Bridgeport over 30 years. She loved spending time with her grandchildren, playing bingo, creating arts and crafts, teaching for special needs, active in both the Special Olympics and as a parishioner of Holy Name of Jesus Church. In addition to her beloved husband Stephen of 45 years, Joan is also survived by four daughters, Lisa Mott and husband Jason of Stratford, Karen Sopko and Adam Catropa of Bridgeport, Rebecca Paquette and husband Dean of Wallingford and Sarah Sideleau and husband Paul of Shelton, seven grandchildren, Casandra, Dean, Zachary, Christian, Andrew, Joshua and Faith, four brothers, Robert Zrallack and wife Lillian of FL., Thomas Zrallack of FL., Richard Zrallack of West Haven and Kenneth Zrallack of Stratford, two sisters Elaine Hirsch and husband David and Arlene DiTroia and husband Vincent both of Florida, and several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her cherished parents, Joan was also predeceased by two grandchildren, Jonathan and Lucas.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 29, 2015 at 8:00 A.M. in Galello-Luchansky Funeral Home, 2220 Main Street, Stratford and at 9:00 AM in Holy Name of Jesus Church, 1950 Barnum Avenue where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Andrew Marus. Interment will follow in St. John's Cemetery Monroe. Friends may call at the Galello-Luchansky Funeral Home on Sunday from 2 - 5 PM.
