Joseph G. Adam Jr.

Adam, Joseph G. Adam Jr., age 88, of Stratford, beloved brother of Marian E. Adam, passed away peacefully on February 9, 2018 at St. Vincent’s Medical Center. Joseph was born on May 21, 1929 in Bridgeport and was the son of the late Joseph G. and Anna Cura Adam. He was a proud US Army Veteran of the Korean War and was employed by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation as a Bank Examiner. Joseph graduated from Warren Harding High School in 1947 and went on to graduate from Uconn in 1957 and attended American Institute of Banking 1963 and was a member of the Slovak Catholic Sokol Society. Joseph is survived by one sister, Marian E. Adam of Stratford, cousins, Margarite Faustine of Bridgeport, Irene Cura of Pennsylvania, Chester Wisocki of Bridgeport and several other cousins. In addition to his beloved parents, Joseph was also predeceased by two brothers, John C. Adam and Edward J. Adam.  Funeral services will be held on Thursday, February 15, 2018 at 11:00 AM DIRECTLY in Sts. Cyril and Methodius Church, 79 Church Street, Bridgeport, CT where a Requiem High Mass will be celebrated by Rev. Canon Andrew Todd.  Interment will follow at St. John’s Cemetery in Stratford. Friends may call at the Galello-Luchansky Funeral Home, 2220 Main Street, Stratford, CT 06615 on Wednesday from 3:00 - 6:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, those who so desire may contribute in Joseph’s memory to Sts. Cyril and Methodius Church, 79 Church Street, Bridgeport, CT 06608.
