Rosemary Williams

December 3, 1929 ~ December 1, 2017 (age 87) 87 Years Old

Williams, Rosemary H. Williams, age 87, of Shelton, beloved wife of the late Howard E. Williams,  entered eternal rest on Friday, December 1, 2017 in Connecticut Hospice Branford.  Rosemary was born on December 3, 1929 and was the daughter of the late Mary and John Mercurio. She was employed for 30 years first by the late Dr. Norman Samuels and then his son Mark Samuels at Stratford’s Lighthouse Dental Care. Patients there will remember her cheerful voice and smile as she endeared herself to all she met. Rosemary and her husband, Howard met at Bridgeport’s legendary Ritz Ballroom and were the inspiration of her son Jeff’s many Ritz dances, radio show and Ritz history book. Aside from being a devoted and true friend to those who knew her, Rosemary enjoyed her family and hosted many gatherings and picnics. She was an avid reader and enjoyed a good mystery, either in print or on TV.  Rosemary is survived by two sons, Jeffrey C. Williams of Shelton and Gregory Williams and wife Stevie of Milford, two grandchildren, Matthew Williams and wife Suzanne and  Adam Williams of Shelton, great grandchild, John Coleman Williams, one brother, Leonard Mercurio,  and one sister, Frances Lesko . In addition to her beloved husband, Howard of 66 years, Rosemary is predeceased by one brother, Peter Mercurio. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 7, 2017 at 9:00 AM at St. James Church, 2070 Main Street, Stratford where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Rogerio Perri.  Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family.   Friends may call on Wednesday, December 6, 2017 at the Galello-Luchansky Funeral Home, 2220 Main Street, Stratford from 4:00 – 6:00 PM.
