Andrea G. Januski

Andrea Januski, age 68, of Stratford, entered into eternal rest suddenly, Sunday, January 17, 2021. She was born in Bridgeport, CT to the late Michael Januski and Agnes Benichak Januski. Andrea graduated from Stratford High School, Bridgeport Hospital School of Nursing with a Diploma in Nursing, and later from Chamberlain College with a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing. In her early years of healthcare service, Andrea worked as a pharmacy technician at St. Joseph Manor. Andrea then had a successful career of 29 years as a Registered Nurse, serving Bridgeport Hospital/Yale New Haven Health. Andrea advanced her role from a medical floor nurse to a medical critical care nurse, and for the past 19-years, she has been the Off-Shift Administrative Manager covering all hospital units. Andrea has touched many employees, visitors, patients, and families through her tireless pursuit of quality patient care and dedication to the community. She was awarded the distinguished Nightingale Award for Excellence in Nursing. This award honors nurses who best exemplify the philosophy and practice of Florence Nightingale, a 19th-century nursing pioneer who epitomized the art of helping people toward their optimal health. With her dry wit and grit, Andrea had a heart of gold and always went the extra mile for anyone in need. She was loyal and had a kind and generous soul. Andrea dedicated her life to her nursing profession, and in her spare time enjoyed traveling, watching Steeler and Yankee games, and spending quality time with her family, especially her mom Agnes, and cherished friends. Andrea was a loving daughter, sister, aunt, friend, and colleague. Andrea is survived by her devoted mother, Agnes, and her loving siblings, Vicki Perkins and husband Don and Jimmy Januski and wife, Mary-Jo, multiple nieces and nephews and multiple great nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her father, Michael S. Januski and two brothers, Chris and Mickey. Due to the current health situation, all services were held privately and a celebration of her life will be held at a later date. Arrangements were entrusted to the Galello-Luchansky Funeral Home, 2220 Main Street, Stratford.
