Andrew Richard Trosan, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, was called home to Heaven to be with his wife Grace on Thursday, February 20, 2025, at Bridgeport Hospital, surrounded by his loving family. He was 88 years old. Andy was born on November 29, 1936, in Stratford, CT, by a midwife. He was the youngest son of Joseph and Elizabeth Trosan. Andy is predeceased by his brothers Raymond and Joseph, Dad's mentor, and his sister Ruth. He graduated from Stratford High School and went on to enlist in the United States Navy as a sonar operator on the USS Entemedor and was honorably discharged from the USS Manley. In 1957, he married the love of his life Grace and together they built a beautiful life and raised their family in Stratford. Andy leaves behind three loving daughters: Tami (Kurt) Minich of Newport, NH; Ritamarie (Richard) Bouchard of San Diego, CA; and Andrea Hreschak of Milford, CT. He was deeply cherished by his six treasured grandchildren: Kristine Wooten, Tara Hartman, Amimarie McDonald, Courtney Copeland, Joseph Albert Hreschak, and Brittany Grace Hreschak. Andy was also adored by his six great-grandchildren: Tori Wooten, Conor Wooten, Benjamin Andrew Leahy, Taylor Grace Hartman, Cali Sage Copeland, and Henry Hartman. Andy was a dedicated father whose primary mission in life was to care for his family. He took great joy in hosting family gatherings by the pool and loved cooking for everyone. Andy was the head mechanic at Trosan's Getty in Devon, CT and worked at Sikorsky Aircraft as a water test engineer until his retirement. After retiring, he enjoyed working as a search and rescue team member out of Captain's Cove in Bridgeport, a job he thoroughly enjoyed. Andy was an active member and former Commodore of the East End Yacht Club. He planned and hosted many Saturday and Sunday night dances and is a life member of the Stratford VFW Post 9460. He served on numerous VFW committees over the years, including the House Committee, which he took great pleasure in. Once again, Andy planned and hosted many events and was also a bartender at the VFW for many years. Andy eagerly anticipated his annual two-week trip to Aruba, where he gathered with family and friends. He also cherished spending time in New Hampshire and camping with his family in Cape Cod.
