Ann C. Buturla, age 95, of Stratford, beloved wife of the late Joseph C. Buturla, passed away peacefully on March 12, 2026, in her residence with her loving family by her side. Ann was born on April 12, 1930, in Milford and was the daughter of Milford Fire Chief Richard F. Coley and Katharine Broderick Coley. Ann grew up in Milford and graduated from Milford High School in 1948 before she married the love of her life, Joseph C. Buturla, with whom she was blessed to share 50 years of marriage. Ann and Joe were the quintessential Stratford family, who were proudest of their five children: Richard (Maria) of Stratford, John (Ginger) of Florida, Joseph (Tracy) of New Hampshire, Katharine (Ronald) Nunnink of Shelton, and JoAnn (Michael) Frouge of Stratford. Ann was a loving grandmother of eleven grandchildren: Susan Maida, Richard (Jill) Buturla, Patrick (Christina) Buturla, Matthew Nunnink, Zachary Nunnink, Joshua Nunnink, Bridget Frouge, Michael Frouge, Tiffany Buturla, Joseph Buturla, and Gina (Christian) Papa. Ann was a devoted great-grandmother to eight great-grandchildren: Maya and Emma Maida, Sophia, Richard, and Jack Buturla, Gianna and Aliya Buturla and Giavanna Papa. Ann loved her large happy family, and her life was filled with many happy Sunday dinners, family vacations with sand and surf and every basketball, football and baseball game that required her supportive presence. She worked for many years at Sikorsky Aircraft, surrounded by many dear friends. Ann will be missed for her lovable spirit, her generosity, kindness and joyful sense of humor. She was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Her love and spirit will live on in the hearts of her dear family. Ann’s family would like to thank all of her home healthcare aids for their unparalleled attention and care to her in her final years.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 17, 2026 at 11:30 AM at St. Mark Church, 500 Wigwam Lane, Stratford, where A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Reggie Norman.
