Barbara B. Chapin

Barbara Brady Chapin, age 80, of Stratford, beloved wife of the late David E. Chapin, passed away peacefully on July 8, 2022 in Bridgeport Hospital with her loving family by her side. Barbara was born in Bridgeport on October 8, 1941 to the late Francis and Margaret Mendillo Brady. Barbara was known as “Corky” and graduated Lauralton Hall and enjoyed traveling and cruising. Barbara is survived by one son, Greg Chapin and wife, Lisa of Beacon, NY, two grandchildren, Eva and Bailey, two adopted granddaughters, Shannon Beringer and Susan Washburn, one sister, Noel Steele of Trumbull, one daughter-in-law, Nicole Chapin of Trumbull, one adored niece, Ellen Brown of Stratford, two great grand nephews, Christopher and Thomas Brown and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her beloved husband, David, Barbara was also predeceased by one son, John Chapin. Friends may call on Thursday, July 14, 2022 from 4:00 to 6:00 PM at the Galello-Luchansky Funeral Home, 2220 Main Street, Stratford. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, those who so desire may contribute in Barbara’s memory to the the Smilow Cancer Center, Closer to Free, Office of Development, P.O. Box 1849, New Haven, CT 06508.
