Cecelia E. Sportelli

Cecelia Estelle Sportelli, 96, beloved mother and grandmother, passed away peacefully at her home in Los Angeles, CA on June 16th, 2022. Born in 1925 to the late Sophie and Joseph Zapotoczny in Middleport, Pennsylvania, Cecelia was one of eleven brothers and sisters. She married her husband, the late Alfred “Sport” Sportelli in 1950 and moved out to Hollywood, CA. Cecelia was a pioneer woman for the 1950s: she retired from Hughes Aircraft in 1981 where she worked for almost 30 years, she was a devoted wife and mother, and although far from home, remained connected to her family and the community of St. Joseph’s Polish National Catholic Church. She is survived by her daughter Jeanne and granddaughter Jessica. Her cooking, laughter, and feisty personality is sorely missed.  
Funeral services will be held at St. Joseph’s Polish National Catholic Church on June 25th at 10:30am. For those who so desire, in lieu of flowers the family asks for donation to St. Joseph’s Polish National Catholic Church, or, to the Alzheimer’s Disease and Related Disorders Association. 
As Cecelia would say, “Love, Love”.
