David E. Chapin

David E. Chapin, age 79, of Stratford, beloved husband of Barbara Brady Chapin, passed away peacefully on August 1, 2021 in Bridgeport Hospital with his loving family by his side. David was born on May 7, 1942 in Milford and was the son of the late Edward and Gladys Noble Chapin. He was employed by Avco-Lycoming as an Electronics Technician. David was a proud Eagle Scout, active in Indian Guides and Bronco League Baseball and enjoyed spending the summers in Cliff Island, Maine. In addition to his beloved wife, Barbara of 56 years, David is also survived by one son, Greg Chapin and wife, Lisa of Beacon, NY, two grandchildren, Eva and Bailey, two “adopted” granddaughters, Shannon Kostin and Susan Washburn  one sister, Barbara Chase and husband, Allyn of Killingworth, CT, one daughter-in-law, Nicole Chapin of Trumbull and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his beloved parents, David was also predeceased by one son, John Chapin. Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 6, 2021 at 10:30 AM in Our Lady of Grace Church, 497 Second Hill Lane, Stratford where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Msgr. Martin Ryan. Interment will follow in Union Cemetery. Friends may call at the Galello-Luchansky Funeral Home, 2220 Main Street, Stratford on Thursday, August 5, 2021 from 4:00 to 6:00 PM
