Davis W. Ganim

Davis W. Ganim of Stratford passed away peacefully on June 7, 2022, at the age of 87, with his loving family by his side. Born on September 26, 1934, in Bridgeport, Davis was the son of the late Wanis and Rose Baghdady Ganim. A lifelong resident of Stratford, Davis was a graduate of Stratford High School and the University of Bridgeport.  He earned a law degree from Washington and Lee University Law School, in Lexington, VA. Davis went on to practice law in Stratford for over 60 years. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Joan Johnson Ganim. In addition, Davis is survived by his four children: three daughters, including Jennifer Ganim Lawton (Robert) of Trumbull, Alexandra McCoole (Robert) of Guilford, and Nicole Brightbill (Jonathan), of McLean, VA; and one son, Thomas Ganim (Sharon) of Westport. Davis was the proud grandfather of Emma Lawton, Macy Lawton, Annabel Lawton, Davis Lawton, Eliza McCoole, Chloe McCoole, Tamsin Brightbill, Charles Brightbill, and J. Davis Brightbill.  The youngest of eight siblings, Davis is also survived by his brother, George Ganim (Josephine) of Easton, and many cherished nieces and nephews. His three other brothers, Joseph Ganim, John Ganim and Raymond Ganim, as well as his three sisters, Laurese Coury, Jeanette Owen and Virginia Baghdady, predeceased him. Friends may call on Tuesday, June 14, 2022 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at the Galello-Luchansky Funeral Home, 2220 Main Street, Stratford. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family.
