Dorothy B. Steel

Dorothy B. Buhan Steel, age 86, a longtime resident of Stratford, beloved wife of the late Robert Steel, passed away peacefully on April 16, 2024, in Milford Hospital with her loving family by her side. Dorothy was born on August 4, 1937 in Bridgeport and was the daughter of the late Daniel and Stephanie Otocka Buhan. Dorothy loved spending time with family and attending family gatherings, she loved traveling and spending time with all her friends at the seawall in Stratford.  She retired as an Administrative Secretary for Bridgeport Machines.  In her retirement years she worked as an Administrative Assistant for the Board of Health in Stratford.  Dorothy is survived by her daughter, Lisa Fennell (Steve) of Stratford, four grandchildren, Stephanie Tingley (Tony) of Stratford, Sean, Sharon and Suzanne Steel of Alpharetta GA, her sister, Judy Kerekes of Sarasota FL, daughter-in-law, Susan Steel of Alpharetta, GA.  and sister-in-laws, several cousins, and nieces and nephews.  In addition to her beloved husband, Robert, Dorothy was also predeceased by her beloved son, Gary R. Steel. Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 21, 2024, at 10:00 AM directly in Holy Name of Jesus Church, 1950 Barnum Avenue, Stratford, where A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Interment will follow in St. Michael’s Cemetery.
