Estelle B. Duprey

Estelle B. St. Marie Duprey, age 86, of Stratford, beloved wife of the late Clarence Duprey, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 28, 2022 at Bridgeport Hospital with her loving family by her side. Estelle was born on July 4, 1936 in North Woodstock, NH. She was the beloved daughter of the late Elwood and Stella Rutkowski St. Marie and was a lifelong Stratford resident. In her younger years, she enjoyed being a gym teacher. Estelle loved watching her favorite tennis player, Rafael Nadal, camping with her husband, polkas and puzzles. She made a lasting impression on all who knew her, even though she couldn’t understand why. Estelle was blessed with five children, Michael Duprey (Kim), Dwayne Duprey (Gina), Yvonne Evans (Dave), Jeanette Schiffer and Danielle Duprey. She was adored by her grandchildren: David Duprey and Sarah Vereb; David IV and Hayleigh Evans; Donald III, Christopher and Timothy Schiffer; great-grandson Dempsey Duprey; and her faithful dog, Bergen. She will be greatly missed by her sisters Rebina Fortin, Janet Romano (Joe) and Suzanne Waters (Tim), and she was a special aunt to many nieces and nephews. In addition to her loving husband, Estelle was also predeceased by her son-in-law, Donald Schiffer, Jr. Estelle was a faithful parishioner of St. James Church in Stratford, and a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on September 6, 2022 at 10:30 AM.
