Kopnicky, Frances Mary Pardenek Kopnicky, age 88, of the Lordship section of Stratford, beloved wife of Reginald Kopnicky, passed away peacefully on January 30, 2016 in her residence with her loving family by her side. She was born in New York City on February 8, 1927 to Slovak immigrants, the late Anton and Mary Ondus Pardenek and lived in New York City most of her youth. During World War II, Frances worked in Rockefeller Center for U.S. Rubber as a teletype operator. In April 1948, she married Reginald Kopnicky and moved to Connecticut spending most of their years in the Lordship section of Stratford. She was a homemaker, who loved to bake and share that baking with all. Frances worked at various jobs, including office work at D.M. Read's department store. She loved reading, crocheting, and trips to the casino, but mostly spending time with family and friends. In addition to her beloved husband, Reginald of 67 years, Frances is also survived by two sons, Thomas Kopnicky and wife Patricia of Norwalk and Gary Kopnicky and wife Ellie of Milford, one daughter, Mary Kopnicky and husband Jeffrey Holthenrichs of Holland, PA, five grandchildren, Matthew Kopnicky of Milford, Amanda Ellingson and husband D.J. of Norwalk, Tessa, Van and Georgia Holthenrichs of Holland, PA, one great grandson, Brandon Ellingson, one brother-in-law, Clement Kopnicky and wife Joan of Newtown, three sisters-in-law, Sharon Pardenek of Little Falls, NY, Shirley Kopnicky of Newtown and Margaret Cheever and husband Edward of Bridgeport, dear friend, Frances Kurisko and many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends that were all dear to her. In addition to her cherished parents, Frances was also predeceased by one brother, Anthony Pardenek and several in-laws, Robert Kopnicky, Florence Reiland, Joan Snyder, Richard and Valerie Kopnicky, Lily Miller, Betty and Clarence Bayliff and dear friend, George Kurisko.
Funeral services will take place on Saturday, February 6, 2016 DIRECTLY at 10:00 AM in Our Lady of Peace Church, 651 Stratford Road, Stratford, where a Memorial Mass will be celebrated by Rev. Nicholas Pavia. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Galello-Luchansky Funeral Home, 2220 Main St, Stratford.
