Frank A Steel

Frank A. Steel, age 85, of Stratford, beloved husband of Dorothy Ulatowski Steel, passed away peacefully on December 21, 2016 in Connecticut Hospice with his loving family by his side. He was born in Bridgeport on August 19, 1931. He and was one of seven children born during the marriage of his parents, the late Alexander Scotland Steel and Josephine Truchon Steel Mulhall. Frank's father passed away when he was four and his mother was later married to the late Louis Mulhall Sr. Two sons were born during their relationship. Frank graduated from Bassick High School in 1949. During the Korean War, Frank served his country proudly in the US Army in Virginia. He was employed by Sikorsky Aircraft for over 30 years. Frank enjoyed tending to his vegetable and flower gardens and he and his wife enjoyed spending their time at the casinos. He was also an avid New York Giants and Uconn basketball fan. In addition to his beloved wife of 59 years, Frank is also survived by his children, Frank Sr., Thomas, Donna and Paul and his wife Doreen, grandchildren Andrew and wife Joanna, Frank Jr., David, Brian and wife Diana, Sean, Jessica, Davin and her husband Chris, Amber, Simone, Anna, Mike and Peter, great grandchildren, Lena, Aeris, Mackenzie and Layla,. He is also survived by his brother, Louis Mulhall Jr. and his wife Alberta, one brother-in-law, Stanley Ulatowski Jr., sisters-in-law, Dorothy Steel and Shirley Ulatowski and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his beloved parents, Frank was also predeceased by three brothers, Andrew, Robert and William, two sisters, Barbara and Harriett (Sue) and infant twin sister and brother, Harry and Harriet.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 28, 2016 at 10:00 AM in Holy Name of Jesus Church, 1950 Barnum Avenue, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Andrew Marus. Entombment will follow in St. Michael's Mausoleum with Full Military Honors. Friends may call at the Galello-Luchansky Funeral Home, 2220 Main Street, Stratford on Tuesday, December 27, 2016 from 4:00 PM - 7:00 PM.
