Gail Gorlo

Gail Ardelle Libbey Gorlo, age 79, of Stratford, beloved wife of Donald Gorlo for 60 years, passed away peacefully on April 12, 2020 in her residence with her loving family by her side.  Gail was born on December 5, 1940 in Bridgeport, CT and was the daughter of the late Waldo Libbey and Ruth Hildebrand Schuler.  Gail loved to educate and was a teacher at Garden school in Stratford in her younger years.  After the birth of her children she became a world class connoisseur of fine wines, traveling the world to learn as much as she could about the makings of a good wine in various regions.  She used this knowledge to open Wines Unlimited as well as other stores where many people drove out of their way to see her infectious smile and get advice in choosing the best wine for their special occasions.  Gail was also a very active member of Unity Hill UCC Church in Trumbull where she held many positions over the years including moderator, bell ringer, treasurer, pianist and Sunday school teacher. In addition to her beloved husband, Donald, Gail is also survived by one daughter, Kimberly Hayward and husband Lawrence of Venice, Florida; one son, Keith Gorlo and wife Marietta of Stratford; three grandchildren, Sarah, William and Sonny; and one sister, Patricia Parrott and husband Richard ,of The Villages, Florida. A heartwarming thank you to all the nurses from Branford Home Hospice who with love and care made Gail’s last five weeks at home so special and comfortable.  Thank you to nurse Michelle and also to the great people at Galello-Luchansky Funeral Home. A celebration of Gail’s life will take place at a future date when all can safely gather. Memorial contributions may be made to Unity Hill UCC Church, 364 White Plains Rd., Trumbull, CT.
