Gary was born on July 28, 1949 in Bridgeport and was the son of the late Peter and Dorothy Sivec Rader. Gary received his Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Connecticut in 1972 and his Doctor of Chiropractic degree from National College of Chiropractic in Lombard, Illinois in 1976. He was also a licensed acupuncturist. He established Rader Chiropractic and Acupuncture Center and practiced for 34 years in Stratford. He was a member of many associations, including the American Association of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine, the American Chiropractic Association, and the Connecticut Chiropractic Association (former District Director, 1986). He coached many of his children's teams and never missed their sporting events. He was an active member of the community, serving as the past president of the Nichols Improvement Association and volunteering at his church. After retiring, Gary loved spending time in Arizona, where he liked to read, bike, swim, and walk. Gary adored his wife, and his pride and joy were his children, and more recently, his beautiful granddaughters. He believed every day was an opportunity to "make memories" with his family. In addition to his wife, Suzanne of 37 years, Gary is also survived by one daughter, Ashley Coxe and her husband Matson and their daughter Emerson of Virginia, and one son, Garrett Rader and his wife Angie and their daughter Malia of Arizona.
