Grace Ida Trosan

Grace Ida Vitale Trosan passed away on Wednesday, June 1, 2022 at Bridgeport Hospital.  Grace was born in Bridgeport on May 29, 1938 to the late Mario “Nick” and Edith Johnson Vitale.  Grace graduated from Stratford High School and then married the love of her life Andrew in 1957.  Grace and Andy are lifelong residents of Stratford.  Grace was a devoted Mom whose mission in life was to take care of family.  She enjoyed her weekly visits and close relationship with her cousins.  Grace was an avid Red Sox fan who had fulfilled her dream of hugging Big Papi.  She was a true sun worshiper who loved playing cards and her annual trips to Aruba with her family and friends.  Grace also spent many happy hours in New Hampshire and camping with her family in Cape Cod.  Grace worked at Caldors and Bradlees in Stratford and was loved by everyone she met. In addition to Andrew ,her beloved husband of 65 years, Grace leaves three loving daughters, Tami Minich and husband, Kurt of Newport, NH, Ritamarie Bouchard and husband, Richard of Oxford and Andrea Hreschak of Milford.  Grace was adored by her six treasured grandchildren, Kristine Wooten, Tara Hartman, Amimarie McDonald, Courtney Copeland, Joseph Albert Hreschak and Brittany Grace Hreschak as well as six great grandchildren, Tori Wooten, Conor Wooten, Benjamin Hreschak, Taylor Grace Hartman, Cali Sage Copeland, and Henry Hartman. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, June 6, 2022 at 10:30 AM at Saint James Church, 2070 Main Street, Stratford, CT.  Interment will follow in Union Cemetery, Stratford. Arrangements were entrusted to the Galello-Luchansky Funeral Home, 2220 Main Street, Stratford. In lieu of flowers, those who so desire may contribute in Grace’s memory to the Smilow Cancer Center, Closer to Free, Office of Development, P.O. Box 1849, New Haven, CT 06508.
