Irene Dorothy Kaputa

Irene Dorothy Podesla Kaputa, age 96, of Stratford, beloved wife of the late Andrew W. Kaputa, passed away peacefully on May 6, 2021 in her residence with her loving family by her side. Irene was born on April 26, 1925 in Bridgeport and was the daughter of the late Louis and Mary Baraga Podesla. She was the president and secretary for many years of Branch 281 of the First Catholic Slovak Ladies Association. Irene is survived by one daughter, Mary Louise Kaputa of Stratford and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 12, 2021 at 10:30 AM in Sts. Cyril and Methodius Church, 79 Church Street, Bridgeport, CT where a Requiem High Mass will be celebrated by Rev. Canon Andrew Todd.  Interment will follow at St. John’s Cemetery in Stratford. Friends may call at the Galello-Luchansky Funeral Home, 2220 Main Street, Stratford, CT 06615 on Wednesday from 9:00 - 10:00 AM. The family wishes to thank everyone who helped and cared for Irene.
