James Babis

BABIS, James Babis, age 85, of Shelton, beloved husband of the late Dorothy Grich Babis, passed away peacefully on March 12, 2016 in Maefair Health Center. James was born on October 20, 1930 and was the son of the late Stephen and Julia Mikhazy Babis. He was raised in Stratford and worked as a Tool and Die Maker and for many years and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He is survived by his brother, Robert Babis of Monroe, many nieces and nephews including, Maryanne Hajducky, Joseph Hajducky and Suzanne Fitzsimmons. He was a second grandfather to Ellen, Christopher, Peter, Mary, Robert, Julie, Angelina and Audrey. In addition to his beloved parents, he was also predeceased by his wife, Dorothy.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 19, 2016 at 9:00AM in Holy Name Church of Jesus Church, 1950 Barnum Avenue Stratford where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Andrew Marus. Interment will follow in St. Michael's Cemetery Stratford. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Galello-Luchansky Funeral Home, 2220 Main Street, Stratford The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of Maefair Health Center for the excellent care given to James.
