On January 12, 2026, James B. Dimon Jr., of Stratford, formerly of Bridgeport, passed away peacefully at home with family by his side, after a long-fought battle with cancer. He was 55 years old.
Jim's legacy of humor, perseverance, and chaos will be carried on by those who had the privilege of knowing him.
He leaves behind his wife of 13 years, Diana (Ferris) Dimon, his dog Hamilton, his mother- and father-in-law, Ann and Dan Ferris, his sister- and brother-in-law, Debbie and John Glebocki, his nieces, Kaitlyn and Sylvia, 23 bottles of hot sauce, 467 pairs of sneakers, and a #10 can of baked beans.
He was predeceased by his mother, and his non-human family members, including, but definitely not limited to: Rage, Dexter, Re-Run, Gus, Saison, The Mexican, Remington, Turd, Cat, Kalici, several fire-bellied toads, parking garage birds, and many more.
Until the very end, Jim did everything he could to bring a smile to someone's face - through his wit, sarcasm, or stories so outlandish that only those who really knew him understood were actually true. "I'm a storyteller - it's my craft" was his favorite quote to describe himself, and while his storytelling ability far exceeded others, his main gift was in living a life that created the stories he told, which friends and family will continue to pass on for years to come.
In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in his name to St. Vincent's Medical Center (Hartford Healthcare), directed to Oncology Patient Assistance – Swim Across The Sound Fund.
A joyous, yet casual, Celebration of Life will be held on June 13, 2026 from 1:30-3:30pm at Short Beach 1 Dorne Drive Stratford, CT 06615. We invite all who knew and loved Jim to join us in honoring his memory.
