Obituary

James P. Horahan, age 78, of Shelton, passed away at Bridgeport Hospital on September 29, 2021. He was born in Bridgeport on November 19, 1942, and was the son of the late John N. Horahan and Margaret Kenderski and a lifelong area resident.  Jim was a graduate of Central High School, earned an undergraduate degree from Fairfield University and went on to earn an MBA from Fordham University.  For many years he worked at Superior Fuel in Fairfield, and later at Brewster Transit Mix in Brewster, NY.  After retirement, Jim found great joy in creating his original artwork.  He loved spending time with friends, taking long walks, and watching Notre Dame and Green Bay Packers football.  Jim was a kind, generous and loyal friend to many, and will be dearly missed by his loving family.  Survivors include his daughters, Katherine McNeil of Stratford and Karen Diez and husband, Luis of Easton, cherished grandchildren Maggie, Annie and Nora McNeil and Luis Diez, his brother, John Horahan and wife, Kathleen of New Port Richey, Florida, sister-in-law, Alice Horahan of Newtown and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his beloved parents, Jim was also predeceased by his brother, Robert Horahan. Friends may call on Monday, October 4, 2021 from 9:00 to11:00 AM at the Galello-Luchansky Funeral Home, 2220 Main Street, Stratford. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, those who so desire, may contribute to the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America, 322 8th Avenue, 16th Floor, New York, NY 10001.
