James A. See Sr., age 86, of Stratford, beloved husband of Joyce Del Vecchio See, peacefully passed away on May 12, 2023, with his wife of 63 years and family by his side. Jim was born on May 8, 1937, in Hartford, CT. Jim was the son of the late Irving and Elizabeth Laws See. Jim lived in Stratford for the past 59 years.
Jim was an avid reader he kept a log of all the books he read over the years. He was a season ticket holder for Uconn Women’s Basketball. Jim traveled with his son to South Bend, Indiana to watch the Notre Dame Football Team. He was also a Yankee and New York Ranger fan. Jim was an excellent golfer. He won several trophies along the way. He and his wife would travel to Myrtle Beach, SC to play golf. Jim was a Fourth Degree Knight of Columbus Member. He belonged to the Gaelic American Club and the Ancient Order of Hiberians. Jim was very proud of his Irish Heritage. Jim and his wife were seasonal campers of Lone Oak Campsites in East Canaan, CT for 46 years. Jim retired from Avo and then went to work at RCM/Sikorsky for 17 years. He is survived by his wife of 63 years and his loving children, one daughter, Sharon A. See of Shelton, one son, James A. See Jr. and wife, Donna Beal See of Stratford, two grandchildren, Braedyn and Alexa See which were the light of his life, they were the Three Musketeers, and many nieces and nephews. Jim was predeceased by his parents Elizabeth and Irving See, a sister Elizabeth Tufano and a brother Russell G See and a sister in-law Janice Pitcher. Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 19,2023 at 10:00 AM at Saint Catherine’s of Sienna Church, 220 Shelton Road, Trumbull. Entombment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 1056 Daniel Farms Road, Trumbull. Friends may call on Thursday May 18, 2023, at 4:30 to 7:00 PM at Galelo-Luchansky Funeral Home, 2220 Main Street Stratford. The family would like to thank Nurse Liz, Linda, and Ann Marie for the great care he received. Also, would like to thank Jessica the Hospice Nurse for the wonderful care she provided and her support for the family at this trying time.
