Workman, James E. Workman, age 76, of Stratford, beloved husband of Germaine Breton Workman, passed away peacefully on October 22, 2015 in his residence with his loving family by his side. James was born on November 24, 1938 in Gassaway, West Virginia and was the son of the late James D. and Ernestine Wood Workman. He was a proud US Army Veteran, who served his country for almost five years and was employed by Sikorsky Aircraft as a Hydraulic Technician for 37 years. James was an avid gardener, hunter and a proud member of the American Legion Post 24 of Derby. James was known as a "pool shark" at the Shelton Senior Center, where he played for several years and will be missed by all of his friends there. James loved "Bench Warming" while watching all of his children play sports and cherished spending time with his grandchildren. In addition to his beloved wife, Germaine, of 52 years, James is also survived by five sons, Michael Workman of Derby, Mark Workman of Stratford, Brian Workman of Stratford, Jimmy Workman of Stratford and Glenn Workman of Stratford, two daughters, Denise Workman Barnett and husband Douglas of Monroe and Elise Workman Chambers and husband Adam of Hamden, 12 grandchildren, Kevin, Briana, Michael Jr., Joshua, Alyssa, Cameron, Jaime, Callie, Mark Jr., Caroline, Cassie and Corinne, one great grandson, Cobe, one sister, Carol Reynolds of Marietta, GA, two uncles and several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his cherished parents, James was also predeceased by one brother, Lloyd Beane.

Funeral services will take place on Monday, October 26, 2015 at 10:00 AM in Galello-Luchansky Funeral Home, 2220 Main St, Stratford and at 11:00 AM in St. Mark Church, 500 Wigwam Lane, Stratford where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Birendra Soreng. Interment will be private in the State of Connecticut Veterans' Cemetery, Middletown, with full military honors. Friends may call on Sunday from 2:00 - 5:00 PM at the Galello-Luchansky Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in James' memory to the Stratford Visiting Nurses Association, 88 Ryders Lane, Stratford or to VITAS Hospice Care, 99 Hawley Lane, Suite 1204, 2nd Floor, Stratford, CT, 06614.
