Janice A. Sienkiewicz

Janice "Jan" Sienkiewicz, age 74, passed away unexpectedly in her home on April 14, 2026. She was born in Bridgeport, CT oldest daughter to the late John and Agnes Grabiec Sienkiewicz. Jan is survived by her sister Judy and her husband Roger Kleinert. She graduated from Cathedral Girls High School in 1969 and went on to Bridgeport Hospital School of Nursing graduating in 1972 and then completed her BSN from Sacred Heart University in 1999. Throughout her nursing career she was an educator, instructor and mentor in Pediatrics/Pediatric ICU, eventually becoming the Head Nurse of Pedi ICU at Bridgeport Hospital. Early on after graduation she began to travel worldwide to Italy, Morocco, Austria, Thailand, Venezuela, Portugal and Spain, etc. She loved playing sports especially tennis, skiing, running, biking and just being outside in nature hiking or spending time at the Cape Cod beaches each summer. Though she will be deeply missed and fondly remembered, we find comfort knowing she is at peace resting with the Lord. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Friday, April 24, 2026 at 10:30 AM at Our Lady of Grace Church, 497 Second Hill Lane, Stratford, CT. All attending are asked to meet directly at the church. Entombment will follow immediately at the Mausoleum at St. Michael's Cemetery, Stratford, CT. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Stratford Animal Rescue Society ("STARS") 225 Beacon Point Road, Stratford, CT 06615.
