Joan M. Moens

Joan M. Shea Moens, age 62, of Milford, passed away suddenly on November 16, 2021 in her residence. Joan was born on October 16, 1959 in Shirley, Massachusetts and was the daughter of James F. Shea and the late Josephine Wegiel Shea. Joan grew up in Bridgeport and attended St. Peter’s Elementary School and Cathedral High School. She worked at Gold’s Deli in Westport for 27 years and volunteered at the VFW Post # 7788 in Milford. She was an avid “I Love Lucy” fan and collector of memorabilia. Joan is survived by one son, Jeffrey Casceillo and wife, Emily of Milford, one daughter, Jaime Hillman and husband, Jack of Maine, father, James F. Shea of Stratford, two grandchildren, Seth and Kaitlyn, two sisters, Linda Papa and husband, Al of West Haven and Kathleen Allain and husband, Raymond Jr. of Stratford and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Joan was also predeceased by her mother, Josephine Wegiel Shea. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 23, 2021 at 9:00 AM at St. James Church, 2070 Main Street, Stratford, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Peter J. Adamski. Interment will follow in Union Cemetery. Friends may call on Monday, November 22, 2021 at the Galello-Luchansky Funeral Home, 2220 Main Street, Stratford, from 4:00 – 7:00 PM.
