John P. Bednar

John P. Bednar, age 66, of Stratford, passed away peacefully on December 30, 2023, in his residence. John was born on January 25, 1957, in Bridgeport and was the son of the late John and Helen Stefura Bednar. He was employed by Westport Industries and Developers for many years. John was an avid Titanic history buff and enthusiastic aviation and classic cars fan. John was most proud of earning his Private Pilots License after suffering a major stroke. With his quick smile, soft presence, a caring man, always willing to help. John with these qualities, quietly touched many lives. John is survived by Gail Jarvis, who together forged a loving and beautiful relationship; Daniel Jarvis and wife, Cathy Scangarella; “Uncle John” to Carter and Paige Jarvis; and special canine friend, Charles. Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 5, 2024, at 10:00 AM in the Galello-Luchansky Funeral Home, 2220 Main Street, Stratford, officiated by Deacon Joseph Koletar. Interment will be private. Friends may call on Friday, January 5, 2024, from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the Galello-Luchansky Funeral Home.
