John R Birch Sr

Birch, John R. Birch Sr., age 75, of Milford, beloved husband of Philomena Baldino Birch, passed away peacefully on April 30, 2016 in Milford Hospital with his loving family by his side. John was born on April 14, 1941 in Bridgeport and was the son of the late Michael and Mary Taylor Birch. He was a proud US Army Veteran, who served his country proudly and was employed by AGI Rubber as a production manager for many years. John was an avid Mets and Uconn Women's basketball fan, enjoyed watching American Pickers television show and spending time with family. In addition to his beloved wife, Philomena, of 54 years, John is survived by two sons, John R. Birch Jr. and wife Jan of West Haven and Christopher Birch of Milford, one daughter, Marie Birch Brackett of Milford and friend Ken Conroy of Stratford, three grandchildren, John R. Birch III, Michael J. Brackett and Shaina Birch, two brothers, Micky Birch and wife Joyce of Stratford and Major Birch and wife Barbara of Georgia, one sister, Janis Scharn of Stratford, one brother-in-law, Dominic Baldino and wife Ginny of Derby and a host of beloved nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. In addition to his beloved parents, John was also predeceased by two brothers, Moe and Willy Birch and four sisters, Genvia Birch, Flo Vitinner, Lila Martanis and Mary Woznick.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 5, 2016 at St. Gabriel's Church, 26 Broadway, Milford, CT 06460 at 10:30 AM, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Declan Creighton. Interment will follow in St. Michael's Cemetery. Friends may call on Wednesday, May 4, 2016 from 4:00 - 7:00 PM at the Galello-Luchansky Funeral Home, 2220 Main Street, Stratford.
