John R Damiani

Damiani, John R. Damiani, age 87, of Bridgeport, beloved husband of Shirley Robbins Damiani, passed away peacefully on January 22, 2016 in his residence with his loving family by his side. John was born on August 28, 1928 in Bridgeport and was the son of the late Domenick and Josephine Delladonna Damiani. John was employed by Sikorsky Aircraft as a Chief Flight Mechanic for many years. He enjoyed spending time with family and will be remembered for his famous saying "You're a doll." John is survived by one daughter, Sheila Castro and husband Luis Sr. of Bridgeport, five grandchildren, Anthony Kezer, Marie Monteiro, Cheri Roberge, Felicia Hinton and Melissa Castro, several great grandchildren, one sister, Shirley Sagliano and husband Peter of Trumbull and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his beloved wife, Shirley, of 37 years, John was also predeceased by one daughter, Donna Boyle.

Funeral services will be held at 11:30 AM on Wednesday, January 27, 2016 at St. Michael's Cemetery officiated by Deacon Michael Saranich . Friends may call at the Galello-Luchansky Funeral Home, 2220 Main Street, Stratford from 9:00 - 11:00 AM on Wednesday.
