John Knapik Obituary

John W. Knapik, age 68, of Stratford, passed away suddenly on February 18, 2022 in Bridgeport Hospital. John was born on January 6, 1954 in Bridgeport and was the son of the late Frank P. and Helen Marczak Knapik. John was a lifelong resident of Stratford and graduated from Stratford High School. He was a former employee of Ross & Roberts, the Bic Corporation and was a volunteer at St. Vincent’s Hospital. John was a quiet, polite, caring and kind man. He enjoyed reading car magazines and was a big NASCAR racing fan. John enjoyed McDonald’s and Dunkin Donuts coffee, taking rides to Short Beach and watching the planes take off and land  and he also enjoyed going to Short Beach and the Sea Wall. John is survived by his loving sister and caregiver, Katherine F. Knapik and many cousins and friends.  Funeral services will be held on Thursday, February 24, 2022 at 11:00 AM in Our Lady of Grace Church, Stratford, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Msgr. Ryan. Interment will follow in St. Michael’s Cemetery. Friends may call at the Galello-Luchansky Funeral Home, 2220 Main Street, Stratford on Thursday from 9:30 to 10:30 AM. In lieu of flowers, those who so desire may contribute in John’s memory to Our Lady of Grace Church, 497 Second Hill Lane, Stratford, CT 06614.
