Joseph S. Spodnick

Joseph S. Spodnick, age 84, of Stratford, passed away at his home on Friday, June 30, 2023.  He was born in Bridgeport on November 22, 1938, to the late Stephen and Helen (Grabowski) Spodnick. Joseph grew up in Bridgeport, CT, graduated from Fairfield College Preparatory School, and obtained his Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from Fairfield University in 1961. After college, Joseph served his country as a Captain in the United States Air Force, and his military service was a testament to his dedication and love for his country. In addition to his military service, Joseph had a deep faith in God that guided his life and can now rest peacefully in Him. He also had a passion for writing, finding joy in putting his thoughts and ideas into words. Joseph is survived by his devoted sister and caregiver, Dorothy Roman, nieces, Sharon DeDonato, Sandra Guard, Donna Cleary, and nephew, William Roman Jr., many great nieces and nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his brother-in-law, William J. Roman. Family and friends are invited to honor and remember Joseph’s life by attending the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday, July 11, 2023 at 10:30 AM at Our Lady of Grace Church, 497 Second Hill Lane, Stratford, CT celebrated by Msgr. Martin Ryan. Following the mass, Joseph will be interred with full military honors at St. Michael’s Cemetery, Stratford, CT. Arrangements were entrusted to the Galello-Luchansky Funeral Home, 2220 Main Street, Stratford.
