Joseph A. Vecsey

Joseph A. Vecsey, age 90, beloved husband of Antoinette Calcagno Vecsey, passed away peacefully on January 23, 2022 in his residence with his loving family by his side. Joseph was born on January 25, 1931 in Fairfield and was the son of the late Joseph and Lulu Greenberg Vecsey. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War and was employed by General Electric as an engineer for many years. He served on the Stratford Zoning Board, was chairman of the Stratford Greenway from 2009 to 2012 and was former president of Oronoque Village Association. In addition to his beloved wife, Antoinette of 24 years, Joseph is also survived by two stepsons, Michael Parisi and wife, Gretchen of Trumbull and Stephen Parisi of West Haven, two stepdaughters, Joanne Bartmess and husband, Bradford of Fairfield and Lisa Parisi and partner, Cassandra Aamodt of Stratford, seven grandchildren, Lynn, Corey, Erin, Kristen, Margaret, Mary and Christopher, five great grandchildren, Jackson, Adelynn, Emma Grace, Eleanor and Harrison, one brother, Louis Vecsey and several nieces and nephews. Joseph was predeceased by his first wife, Joan Satmary Vecsey and one grandson, Christopher Bartmess. Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 28, 2022 in St. Mark Church, 500 Wigwam Lane, Stratford at 10:30 AM, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Interment will be private. Friends may call on Friday, January 28, 2022 from 8:30 to 10:00 AM at the Galello-Luchansky Funeral Home, 2220 Main Street, Stratford.
