Shea, Josephine Frances Shea, age 77, of Stratford, beloved wife of James Francis Shea, passed away peacefully on November 30, 2017 in her residence with her loving family by her side. Josephine was born on March 9, 1940 in Brooklyn, NY and was the daughter of the late Michael and Stella Wegiel. She attended St. Michael’s the Archangel School in Bridgeport and was a graduate of Harding High School. Josephine was a very dedicated worker in the food service industry for several different establishments. She loved her baseball was an avid New York Yankees fan. She was most devoted to her husband, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. In addition to her beloved husband James of 58 years, Josephine is also survived by three daughters, Joan Moens of Milford, Linda Papa and husband Al of West Haven and Kathleen Allain and husband Raymond Jr. of Stratford, seven grandchildren, Jaime, Jeff, Sara, Daniel, Ann, Jeffrey and Jennifer, four great grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Amya, Cordelia and Charlotte Josephine, one sister, Jean Doran and husband Edward of Milford, one brother, Chester Wegiel and companion Joan Haggerty of Milford, and several nephews and nieces. In addition to her cherished parents, Josephine was also predeceased by one grandson, Thomas J. Henthorn Jr. and one sister, Frances Ribas. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 6, 2017 at 10:30 AM at St. James Church, 2070 Main Street, Stratford where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Rogerio Perri. Interment will follow in Union Cemetery. Friends may call on Tuesday, December 5, 2017 at the Galello-Luchansky Funeral Home, 2220 Main Street, Stratford from 4:00 – 7:00 PM.
