Katherine L Yacovangelo

Yacovangelo, Katherine "Kay" Lyons Yacovangelo, age 89, of Ansonia passed away peacefully on October 6, 2016 in Bridgeport Hospital with her loving family by her side. Katherine was born and raised in Stratford to the late Martin J. and Ethel K. Lyons. She was retired from Bead Industries in Bridgeport. She had a warm heart and a good sense of humor. She loved her pets Jake, Trevor and Tosha. Katherine enjoyed vegetable gardening, bowling, ceramics and taking care of all her grandchildren. Katherine is survived by two loving daughters, Aprile D. Soderquist of Shelton and Joanne C. Cox of Fort Myers, FL, seven grandchildren, Dawn and René Fontanez, Sandra and Brian Piccirillo, Jo Jordan, Colleen and Lydia Jordan Fithian, Matthew and Beverly Jordan, David and Rebecca Jordan, Terez Jordan, nine great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her beloved parents, Katherine was also predeceased by four sisters, two brothers and their spouses, Ethel and Frank Scinto, Gladys and Marcel Grisier, Madeline and Guy Frizinia, Sarah and Myrtis Taylor, Martin and Helen Lyons and Joseph and Jeanette Lyons.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 12, 2016 at 10:00 AM in the Galello-Luchansky Funeral Home, 2220 Main Street, Stratford, officiated by Deacon Richard Renker. Interment will follow in Riverside Cemetery Shelton. Friends may call on Tuesday from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at the Galello-Luchansky Funeral Home.
