Laura T Vietri

Vietri, Laura T. Mancini Vietri, age 94, of Stratford, beloved wife of the late Amedeo (Danny) Vietri, passed away peacefully on November 20, 2015 in Bridgeport Hospital with her loving family by her side. Laura was born on November 4, 1921 in Bridgeport and was the daughter of the late Carlo and Josephine Savino Mancini. Laura was a member of the Ivy Leaguers and the Baldwin Center. She loved the New York Yankees, walking, reading, traveling, listening to music, rocking in her rocking chair while looking out the window and always had a smile for everyone. Laura loved well and was well loved by all who knew her and always looked forward to her next cup of coffee. Laura is survived by two daughters, Nancy S. Vietri of Stratford and Gloria Herb and husband Leo of Sanford, NC, one grandson, Danny Vietri, two brothers, William Mancini of Stratford and Edward Mancini of Stratford, one sister, Eleanor Andriso of Stratford, one sister-in-law, Rose Savo and several nieces and nephews. . In addition to her cherished parents, Laura was also predeceased by two brothers, Thomas Mancini and Michael Mancini and four sisters, Florence Teachman, Adeline Montecalvo, Theresa Mancini and Geraldine Malchisky.

Funeral services will take place on Wednesday, November 25, 2015 at 9:00 AM DIRECTLY in the Holy Name of Jesus Church, 1950 Barnum Avenue, Stratford where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Andrew G. Marus. Interment will follow in St. Michael's Cemetery. Friends may call on Tuesday from 4:00- 7:00 PM at the Galello-Luchansky Funeral Home, 2220 Main Street, Stratford. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Laura's memory to the American Heart Association, PO Box 417005, Boston, MA 02241 or Boys Town National Headquarters, 200 Flanagan Boulevard, PO Box 8000, Boys Town, NE 68010.
