Linda L. Phillips Magovern, age 67, of Stratford, passed away peacefully on February 27, 2025 in Bridgeport Hospital. She was the daughter of the late Frederick Stanley and Nancy Phillips and the beloved wife of Keith Magovern, PE. Linda graduated from Roger Ludlow High School in Fairfield where she was active in tennis, swimming, ski team and the downhill ski team. Linda attended Norwich University in Northfield, VT, graduated in 1979 and also attended the Institute for Paralegal Training and became a paralegal for Pennie and Edmunds, NY, patent firm. In later years, she worked for her father at Phillips Consulting. While living in Bridgeport, through the US Recreational Ski Association, Linda participated in ski races out west and won a car with the Chrysler-Plymouth sweepstake drawing. She also enjoyed racing sail boats. After leaving Connecticut, Linda and her husband, moved to Ashland, WI and she became an insurance agent. They moved back to Foxborough, MA , where she became very active in the Foxborough Jaycees, while she worked as an insurance agent. After several years, Linda moved back to Connecticut, Bridgeport, Southport and Stratford, where she helped friends and took care of her parents. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, March 22, 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Lordship Community Church, 179 Prospect Drive, Stratford, CT, 06615. In lieu of flowers, those who so desire may contribute in Linda’s memory to Norwich University, 158 Harmon Dr, Northfield, VT 05663.
