Lynne Livia Obituary

Lynne Dinihanian Livia, 64, of Stratford, beloved daughter of the late Richard and Alice Dinihanian and widow of Gary Livia, passed away peacefully on January 7 at CT Hospice after an extended illness, with her sister Hon holding her hand. Born in Bridgeport, Lynne lived most of her life in Stratford, graduating from Bunnell HS, and then from Amore School of Beauty. Upon marrying Gary, she resided in Shelton until his death in 2005, and then returned to Stratford.

For years Lynne taught hairdressing at several local schools and took much pride in being called “Ms. Lynne”. She loved football, going to the casinos, playing Bingo with Shell and Jane, trying her luck with scratch-offs, going to the concerts on the Green, and Blues on the Beach. She loved to cook and bake, and each Christmas made huge cookie trays to deliver to the Stratford EMS and Fire Department to thank them for all their service to our family. She also loved making our family’s Slovak and Armenian ethnic foods, always sharing the goods with her cousins and nephews. Having been raised with an incredible sense of family, Lynne had a great time at family birthday parties, picnics, game nights, “cousin’s” parties, and Halloween costume parties. Lynne leaves behind her beloved sister with whom she lived, Alice “Honey” Dinihanian Arcuri and companion Mike Carsten, nephew Peter Rader, his wife Tracy and their children Noah and Jacob, nephew Matthew Rader, his fiancé Kristin Mauro and their children Bradley and Peyton, an absolutely amazing group of cherished cousins of all ages, her sister-in-law Robyn Fry and niece Livia, and her two very spoiled kitties – Midnight and Mini-Me. In addition to her parents and her husband, Lynne was also predeceased by her dear sister Marge and her husband Donald Rader, and brother-in-law Phil Arcuri. Due to COVID, a brief paying of respects will take place on Thursday, January 13, 2022 at 9:30 AM at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 406 White Plains Road, Trumbull; services to follow at 10 AM. Interment will be at Lakeview Cemetery, Bridgeport, following church. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Galello Funeral Home, 2220 Main St, Stratford. In lieu of flowers, donations in Lynne’s memory may be made to Stratford EMS, Stratford Cat Project, or an organization of one’s choice. Her infectious laugh and downright silliness will be missed by many. Lynne had a tattoo of an angel with an ever-so-slightly tipped halo which she always said was just like her. Well Lynne, fly high with your new wings and tell everyone up there how much we all miss and love them.
