Marie “Peggy” Kubica, age 100, of Stratford, passed away peacefully at Bridgeport Hospital on January 13, 2025. Peggy was the loving wife of 62 years to the late Stephen Kubica. Her family was at her bedside. Peggy was born in Fall River, MA, the daughter of the late Albert and Alice Talbot. She served as a WAC in the Army during World War II at the base hospital, where she met Steve. He was a medic and also played in a band where they asked her to sing. They eventually moved to Bridgeport to start their life, raising three daughters. Peggy and Steve finally settled in Stratford. Peggy worked in retail sales in Reads and Macys until her retirement. She was a faithful member of Holy Name of Jesus Church. She and Steve loved to travel, going to casino’s, cruising, NYC and eating out whenever they could. Marie “Peggy” is survived by her three daughters, Marion Kubica, Judith Stabler and husband, Richard and Donna Stiller and husband, Louis, grandson, Richard Stabler Jr., and wife, Annette, one sister, Juliette Geary and several nieces and nephews. Respecting Peggy’s wishes, services will be private. One thing she always told us, was not to wait to do the things you want to do waiting for a better time. Do it now because you never know what will happen in the future. Arrangements were entrusted to the Galello-Luchansky Funeral Home, 2220 Main Street, Stratford.
