Mary J. DiMenna

Mary Josephine Mamone DiMenna of Venice, Florida passed away on February 18, 2026 at the age of 98. Mary was born in New Rochelle, NY on October 8, 1927 but lived most of her life in Stratford, CT. She re-located to Venice, FL in 2015 to be closer to her children. Mary was a graduate of Stratford High School. She worked part time for the American Shakespeare Theater, and then for many years as a bookkeeper for Alarcon Tire until her retirement. Mary will be remembered for her love of ballroom dancing with her husband, playing bingo, making the best Italian “gravy” and meatballs, and her special relationship with her grand dog, Maverick. Mary is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Lynn and Bob Gelzheiser, her son and daughter-in-law, Fred and Toni DiMenna, several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Mary was pre-deceased by her husband of 64 years, Frederick DiMenna, Sr. and by her parents Dominick and Angelina Mamone and her six siblings, Anthony Mamone, Rose Didio, Frances Scinto, Joseph Mamone, Kitty Pagliaro, and John Mamone. Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 2, 2026 at 11:00 AM at St. Joseph's of Stratford National Catholic Church, 1300 Stratford Road, Stratford, where A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Interment will follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery. Friends may call on Monday, March 2, 2026 from 9:30 to 10:30 AM at the Galello-Luchansky Funeral Home, 2220 Main Street, Stratford. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to St. Joseph’s of Stratford National Catholic Church, 1300 Stratford Road, Stratford, CT, 06615 or St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
