God called Michael F. Politano home on Sunday, July 30, 2023 at the age of 78. He passed away peacefully at his home with his loving wife Judy Piccirillo Politano by his side. Born in Bridgeport, CT on February 24, 1945, Michael was the only child of the late Thomas and Sue Politano. He graduated from Central High School and shortly afterwards joined the Army National Reserves. Michael was employed for 45 years at Sikorsky Aircraft in the Facilities Department. Throughout his life, Michael was fascinated with learning how to do magic tricks. For years, Michael performed his magic tricks on stage at the Sikorsky Family Day events. His expertise was in close-up magic using coins or cards. After retiring, he with his family opened a shop called Mystic Magic in Mystic Village, Mystic, CT which sold magic supplies and magic lessons. Since Mystic, CT is so close to CT’s two casinos, Michael and Judy spent many fun times together playing the slot machines. Michael leaves behind his devoted wife Judy of 30 years; his son Bryan Politano of Stratford, CT; his step-son David Martin Ferrari of Kissimmee, Florida; and his step-daughter Leanne Lovgren of Sherman, CT. Michael’s enjoyment always came from seeing his 3 loving step-grandchildren: Paul Francis Lovgren, Lilliana Louise Lovgren, and Dalton Haysin Lovgren. Michael will be dearly missed by his family and friends, but they are consoled that, after all these years of experiencing chronic illnesses, Michael is at peace with our Heavenly Father. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM, Thursday, August 3, 2023 meeting directly at Holy Name of Jesus Church, 1950 Barnum Ave., Stratford, CT. Interment will follow in St. Michaels’s Cemetery, Stratford, CT. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Holy Name of Jesus Church in Stratford, CT.
