Phyllis Joan Samor, 81, of Cheshire, CT passed away on April 23, 2023 after a long struggle with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disorder. She died peacefully, embraced in love from her family and support from her wonderful caregivers at Elim Park in Cheshire, CT. Phyllis was born in Hartford, CT on July 30, 1941, ten minutes after her twin sister, Priscilla Masek. Phyllis lived most of her life in Stratford, CT, and graduated from Stratford High School in 1960. She then completed her associates degree in radiology from Bridgeport Hospital. Phyllis was a natural caregiver who dedicated her life to helping others. From her early years as a candy striper, and then raising three children, caring for her parents, and being a devoted grandmother to her eight grandchildren, Phyllis could always be counted on. Spending time with family meant everything to Phyllis, and she also enjoyed food, travel, cooking, golf, sports, and watching her son, David, play baseball. Phyllis loved to relax by the pool with her grandchildren, attend their extra-curricular events, and she looked forward to her annual visits to Chicago. Phyllis’ lifelong friendships were very dear to her and were a source of strength, happiness, laughter, and comfort throughout her life. Phyllis was a genuine and beautiful woman who loved those around her fiercely. She is predeceased by her parents, Ethel and Robert Noel, and her twin sister, Priscilla Masek. She is survived by her three children, Jennifer Rhind (David) Laura Molnar (Paul), and David Samor (Ashley), and her grandchildren, Benjamin, Matthew, Alexander, Jenna, Lauren, Christopher, Remmington, and Cazimira. Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 28, 2023 at St. Mark’s Church, 500 Wigwam Lane, Stratford at 10:00 AM where A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Interment will be held privately by family at Huntington Lawn Cemetery at a later date. Friends may call on Thursday, April 27, 2023 at the Galello-Luchansky Funeral Home, 2200 Main Street, Stratford from 4:00 to 7:00 PM. In honor of Phyllis’ beautiful life, please look for an opportunity to help others or make someone smile.
