Raymond C. Mutchler Jr.

Raymond “Ray” Conrad Mutchler Jr., age 70, of Stratford, beloved husband of Joy Mitchell Mutchler, passed away peacefully after a long illness on July 5th 2025. He was born in Bridgeport, on May 2, 1955. Ray graduated from Bunnell High school class of 1973 and went on to work at Westchester Stereo. He then went on to own his own business, State Street Electronics in New Haven for over a decade. He was later employed at Krell Industries as the service manager. He loved to fix anything. Whether it was an amp, TV, home projects, or his Jaguar’s, he loved to see how things worked. Ray cherished life and lived it to the fullest. Anyone who ever met him knew his love of music. He was an extremely talented guitar player and singer. Whether he was in a band or just playing at home, he could never put the guitar down. He had a stage presence that would captivate anyone. His sense of humor was to be admired. He would make a funny face or say something and the room with fill with laughter. Ray leaves behind his loving wife of 43 years, Joy Mitchell Mutchler, their two cats Lucy and Fred; as well as two daughters, Samantha Pihonak (Jay Pihonak) of Lordship and Sara Mutchler (Mark Perkowski) of Stratford. Ray absolutely adored his two grandchildren, Alex and Claire Pihonak and grandpup Shea. He is also survived by his sisters, sister in laws, many nephews and nieces, and friends who he loved very much. He is predeceased by his parents, Raymond Conrad Mutchler Sr and Margaret Hill Mutchler. The Mutchler family would like to thank the Stratford VNA and Bridgeport Hospital nurses for all their love and compassion during this time. Family and friends are welcome to celebrate Ray’s life on Tuesday, July 15, 2025 from 4:00 to 6:00 PM at Galello-Luchansky Funeral Home, 2220 Main Street, Stratford.
