Rev. Michael J. Bachman Jr.

The Reverend Michael J. Bachman Jr. passed away on Saturday, September 7, 2024 in Stamford Hospital. He was 84 years of age. Fr. Bachman was born on December 2, 1939, in Bridgeport to Michael & Edna Bachman. Following his college studies, he worked for the Lafayette Bank and Trust Co. In addition, he spent four years in the United States Naval Reserve that included a six month tour of duty in the North Atlantic. Fr. Bachman completed his seminary studies at Sacred Heart School of Theology in Hales Corners, Wisconsin. He was ordained to the priesthood at Saint Augustine Cathedral on December 22, 1984, by the Most Reverend Walter W. Curtis, S.T.D. Following his ordination, he served at the following parishes: St. Charles Borromeo Parish, Bridgeport; Holy Name of Jesus, Stratford; St. Thomas the Apostle, Norwalk; and St. Ladislaus Parish, South Norwalk, where he served as Pastor for ten years. For the last five years he resided at the Catherine Dennis Keefe Queen of the Clergy Residence in Stamford, CT. Funeral services were held at Holy Name of Jesus parish in Stratford on Friday, September 13, 2024. The Most Reverend Frank Caggiano, Bishop of Bridgeport celebrated the Mass of Christian Burial. Interment followed at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church Cemetery, in Stratford. Arrangements were entrusted to the Galello-Luchansky Funeral Home, 2220 Main Street, Stratford.
