Richard A Galello

Galello, Richard (Richie) A. Galello, age 70, of Stratford, beloved husband of Marie Naber Galello, passed away peacefully on December 14, 2015 in Bridgeport Hospital with his loving family by his side. Richard was born on May 3, 1945 in Bridgeport and was the son of the late Angelo and Mary Pimpinelli Galello. He was a proud US Army Veteran, who served his country proudly and was employed by Unifirst and the Flower Basket in Stratford for many years. Richard enjoyed designing floral pieces, cheering for the Boston Red Sox, listening to Barry Manilow and spending time with his dogs. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather and will be missed by all who knew him. In addition to his beloved wife, Marie of 47 years, Richard is also survived by one son, Richard (Richie) E. Galello and wife Paula of Stratford, one daughter, Deanna Salzillo and husband Danny of Bristol, five grandchildren, Dylan, Michael, Daniella, Brianna and Donato, two sisters, Diane Pekar and husband Andrew (Butchie) of Shelton and Deborah Engelhard of California, two sisters-in-law, Carol Galello of Trumbull and Patricia Sorrentino-Galello of Stratford, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his beloved parents, Richard was also predeceased by two brothers, Thomas Galello and Robert Galello.

Funeral services will take place on Friday, December 18, 2015 at 10:00 AM in the Holy Name of Jesus Church, 1950 Barnum Avenue, Stratford where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Andrew G. Marus. Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery with full military honors. Friends may call on Thursday from 4:00-7:00 PM at the Galello-Luchansky Funeral Home, 2220 Main Street, Stratford.
