Cullen, Robert F. Cullen, age 74, of Milford, passed away peacefully on August 12, 2015 in St. Raphael's Hospital, with his loving family by his side. Robert was born on February 16, 1941 in Milford and was the son of the late Irving and Evelyn Peck Cullen. Robert was a proud US Army Veteran, who served his country proudly and was employed by the Town of Stratford as a firefighter for 22 years. Robert was also the proprietor of the Holiday Luncheonette in Stratford for nine years and was a member of the Disabled American Veterans in Milford. He loved playing pinochle and bingo with his neighbors. He also enjoyed doing jumble puzzles and spending time at Frankie's Diner, where he was affectionately known as "Slick." Friends will remember his sarcastic and funny sense of humor. In addition to his former wife, Joyce Moskwa Cullen, Robert is also survived by two daughters, Noelle Guerini and husband John of Milford and Laura Cullen of Milford, two grandchildren, Wyatt and Wynter Guerini, three brothers, Richard, Irving and James, five sisters, Evelyn, Ethel, Dorothy, Linda, Kathleen and their spouses as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to his beloved parents, Robert was also predeceased by one brother, William Cullen.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday August 15, 2015 at 10:00 AM DIRECTLY in Stratford Baptist Church 131 Huntington Road officiated by Rev. Ken Fellenbaum. Interment will follow in Union Cemetery Stratford. Friends may call at the Galello-Luchansky Funeral Home 2220 Main Street Stratford on Friday from 4:00 - 7:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to the American Lung Association, 55 W. Wacker Drive, Suite 1150, Chicago, IL 60601 or the Veteran's Administration Medical Center, 950 Campbell Avenue, West Haven, CT 06516 in Robert's memory. The family would like to thank the medical staff at Milford Hospital Memorial 3 West and ICU, Gaylord Specialty Healthcare and St. Raphael's Hospital for their kindness and compassion during Robert's illness.
